Chelsey & her boys
If every family session went like this one, you'd see a lot more of them around these parts. I wanted to put this baby in my bag and skip town. Is he not the cutest?! Loved spending some time with this adorably sweet fam.

The cutest little mini-cooper I've ever met.

DIY Cheese Platter How-To with Jessica Sloane
If you follow me on instagram you are well-aware of my affinity towards cheese. So when my talented friend Jessica Sloane came for a visit, we felt it was only fitting to style and shoot something. The only logical choice was cheese. So we hit up some local thrift stores, consignment shops and friend's pantries to pull together a little style shoot, of cheese. For more on this shoot, hop over to Jessica's blog or the feature on Style Me Pretty.
Naples Pier Engagement Session
Door County Wisconsin
This summer I traveled up to Door County Wisconsin to photograph one of my favorite weddings yet. I fell head over heels for the area's charm and I hope you do too!
Katie's Palm Beach Maternity Session
So excited for my new friend Katie and her husband Rob as they await the arrival of Baby Cooper.
Sweet Newborn Maggie
I met Kate two and a half years ago when she contacted me about shooting she and Paul's wedding. Since then I have had the joy of photographing her wedding as well as her engagement party, engagement sessions and most recently, her maternity portraits. I can honestly say that, through these years, she has grown to be one of my most treasured friends. So being given the ability to photograph some of she and Paul's first moments at home with their new daughter is something I deeply value. These chances, these opportunities, they may start out as gifts to those I care for but they always end up as tremendous blessings to me.
Thomas & Shannon's Spruce Head Maine DIY Wedding
Thomas & Shannon, I cannot express in words how much I love you and how much it meant to me to be a part of your wedding. The above is my way of trying to do it with pictures. Every frame was truly my gift and expression of love to you. You hold such a precious and unique place in my heart and I am overjoyed that you have chosen to spend your lives together.

Jisma & Two Christians
It's sort-of a known fact that I am somewhat selective when it comes to photographing families. However, I didn't think twice when Jisma asked me to do a family session. Not only is she one of the most beautiful people I have ever met, but she and her little family mean so much to us. I have to admit, I was even a bit nervous. Young family sessions are typically a challenge to capture well, and shooting film takes it up a notch since manually focusing on moving targets takes practice. But when Jisma and her two Christians were in front of my camera I found myself truly inspired.
Thomas & Shannon's Owl's Head Maine Engagement Session
I know how crazy things can get the day before a DIY destination wedding and even in spite of that, Shannon and Thomas took a few hours to show me around Owl's Head Maine and pose for engagement photos. It was a special time for me to spend alone with them and I love the photographs we made. You can see their wedding and read all the details over on OnceWed.
Scott & Sarah at The Ft. Lauderdale Yacht Club
I have to confess - this session was a dream come true and huge challenge all at the same time. The dream come true part was photographing Sarah. She is stop-you-dead-in-your-tracks gorgeous. However, this shoot really pushed me because 10 minutes into it my camera strap broke, sending my dearly beloved contax to the ground lens first. I literally felt my stomach hit the ground with it. But I had a job to do so I finished the roll in that camera and pulled out my new 35mm (which had just arrived that morning) and shot the rest of the session with that. Scott & Sarah were total troopers, it had to have been 95 degrees, their puppy was along and their photographer was shooting with a broken camera! But honestly, I kind-of like the dreamy effect the broken lens created and the colors from the 35mm are totally different. So here's to challenges and awesome couples!
Switzerland Fairy Tales are True
In May, Dave and I had the amazing opportunity to photograph a sweet intimate destination wedding in Tuscany. Since we'd already adventured around Italy a few years ago, he convinced me that we should travel through Switzerland instead after the wedding. Italy is my first love and I will confess I am a bit bummed we didn't spend more time there but Switzerland definitely packed a punch!
Lugano was our very first stop on our Swiss tour. We pulled into town on the train from Milan and made our way up the hill to the Hotel Montarina which we had booked per Sarah's recommendation. Because it was a vacation season in Switzerland, they were full but they gave us a room at the neighboring Continental Park Hotel. We didn't mind, the rooms were clean, modern and there was even a pool there. We, of course, did not spend much time in the room as we were anxious to see the sights. To me, out of all of our travels through Switzerland, Lugano felt the most like home. Lots of water, boats, and expensive things, much like Palm Beach. During our time there we rode the funicolare (cable car) up to Monte San Salvatore, took a river cruise to Gandria, and mainly just strolled around the lake eating gelato. If you are planning a Swiss honeymoon or vacation I would say you should spend at least one full day enjoying this lakeside village. I shot these on my Contax 645 with Portra 160 & Fuji 400H.
