Organic Family Photography

Images like these are why I became a photographer. Images like these remind me of a past full of playful seaside moments with my family captured on a 35mm by my father. Nothing posed. Nothing forced. Truly organic moments. The sad part is I rarely get to photograph families in this way. It seems that the family photo norm has become so contrived that an hour at the beach results in matching outfits and sitting smiles. That is why you so rarely see a family session on my blog. I would by lying to all of you if I posted that. It's not real. What you will see below is real. A real family, in less than ideal lighting conditions, given no direction, just being themselves. I know this, when it's my turn for a family, these are the kinds images I'd like to use to tell our story.
